Party Killer for the weekend and an old classic Groove Armada song

As I am listening to this song for a while now, I think it is worth sharing it with you. It was already published in August 2010. It is called Party Killer by David E. Sugar and was published on the album Memory Store in 2010.  But who is this David E. Sugar? He was on Tour with Digitalism and produced some remixes for the Klaxons. He is from London, UK and his music genre is Alternative, Electronica, Indie. His next concerts are in London and Hampshire. So enjoy this song as I do!

But not enough for today, here is another one of my all time old favourite songs released in 2009 by Groove Armada called Drop the Tough

Have a nice weekend!!

METRONOMY in Concert

Yesterday was my lucky day. Although the concert was sold out I won two tickets only a few hours before the gig. Home come? I was listening to egoFM, one of my favourite Munich radio stations, where Metronomy were giving an interview. They had to guest list tickets for the evening and I was so lucky to get through and win them in a raffle. Unbelievable!! Normally I have never luck with such things – but yesterday was my lucky day!!

Metronomy played at the Atomic Cafe. I have never been to this location before and I must say that I really liked it. A small alternative location with a mixed up crowd of people ranging from 18 to 30.

The Atomic Cafe

B&T - Atomic Cafe

I know the sound of Metronomy since 2008. It was during my studies in London when I went to a party with one of my best friends Matylda and someone started to play the song Heartbreaker and everybody was dancing and jumping around. This song reminds me of this great time in London and I really like it. Therefore I was curious how their new album The English Riviera, which they released in April 2011, would be.

Metronomy

B&T - Metronomy live on stage in Munich

The sound is great and my  favourite songs on the album are “The Look”, “Loving Arm” and “She wants”. The live performance was really great. Great voices, great drummer, great guitarist. The light bulbs in front of their bodies were surreal.

Now listen yourself, if you do not know them, and tell me what you think? I would say:

Here are the tour dates for 2011:

18th May – Vienna, Chelsea (AT)
21th May – Toulouse, Le Bikini (FR)
22th May – Bordeaux, Rockschool Barbey (FR)
23th May – Rennes, Antipode (FR)
24th May – Lyon, Ninkasi Kao (FR)
25th May – Tourcoing, Le Grand Mix (FR)
26th May – Stasbourg, La Laiterie (FR)

Tomorrow I will upload some videos I made on the concert. So come by again. Thanks for reading.

The T-Mobile Dance

On the 15th of January T-Mobile started a flashmob at Liverpool Street station in London. Sadely I missed it, wished I would have been there as it looks like lots of fun. Besides, I love flashmobs.
The motto of this campaign was  “Life´s for sharing” and I think they did a good job. Who wouldn´t have told this to their family or friends if you would have been at the station at this time? Seems like most of the people had fun watching it or have fun watching it now. Nearly 3 million people have seen the youtube video so far. After all the bad news about T-Mobile it seems like they did a step forwad to improve their image.

Bye bye London

After lots of final exams and my move from London back to Gemany, I finally have time to concentrate on blogging again. I spent a few days in Dortmund over Christmas, spent New Year in Hamburg with friends and went afterwards to Celle to visit my boyfriend´s family. Now I am in Munich and enjoying my free time before I start to write my dissertation.

As I am still a student and London was quite expensive, I worked the last three days at the munichfabricstart which “is the biannual central meeting point of Germany’s fashion industry“. The exhibition was in the M,O,C which is located in the northern part of Munich called Freimann. I must say that I really liked this fair venue. Compared to other fair venues in Germany, which I have seen, this was the most beautiful one with a really nice design. exhibition

The exhibition informed about the newest trends in accessories, fabric novelties and yarn. The innovations for the autumn and winter 09/10 and summer and spring 10, which were given insights in trend lectures, are published on the munichfabricstart website or will be published soon after the tradeshow. For those who are interested in the upcoming trends of the fashion industry just have a look: http://www.munichfabricstart.com/Trends.html

OMD – I will be there on the 18th

Tomorrow I will be at the OMD (Online Marketing Düsseldorf) to have a look at some novelties in the online marketing sector.
The OMD is one of the foremost trade shows about online marketing in Germany. There will be more then 380 exhibitors and lots of different speakers during the day.
In the morning, for example, Tom Hosking – Regional Sales Manager Massive EMEA Microsoft Advertising – will give a lecture on the topic “Ingame Advertising”. Furthermore Stefan Zilch – Sales Director MySpace Germany, Austria & Switzerland – will give a speech about Myspace, social networks. There are lots of more interesting topics which you can look up here.
I will join the speech of Kolja Hebenstreit, who will give a lecture at 1.45 pm about “Individually configurated products and digital marketing Spreadshirt“.
I hope to get to know lots of people who are involved and interested in online consumer behaviour as I am looking for an interesting topic for my master thesis which I will begin by February 2009.
I will be one more week in Germany before my lecture at the UEL in London for my Master in International Marketing Management starts at the 29th of September for the second and last semester.
There I will spend some time with Matylda, who is doing an internship at the moment at dezeen and is writing about her experiences in London on her Blog.
But first of all I should get some sleep to be totally sanguine for the trade show tomorrow. B&T

Marks & Spencer opens M&S To Go in London

M&S image library
I found an interesting article in the MarketingWeek and also on the Investment Market Page where its stated, that this spring Marks & Spencer will open its first standalone sandwich store on the Kensington High Street, West London.
The store will stock a range of pre-packed sandwiches, fresh baguettes and a limited selection of hot food, such as soups and porridge. The shop is an extension to its Food To Go offer, which it features in 17 of its department stores.
