Beautiful Swedish Interior Design!

Ich habe ja bereits einige Male erwähnt, dass ich auf schwedisches Design stehe. Ich habe wahnsinnig schöne Inneneinrichtungs-Ideen auf der Seite von Alvhem entdeckt. Ich mag die Auswahl der Möbel, die Dominanz von Weißtönen und die Mischung aus Tradition und Moderne! Wahnsinnig schöne Eindrücke zum träumen und nach machen. Alvhem haben einen Shop in Göteborg eröffnet in dem Sie Dekogegenstände verkaufen und den man meiner Meinung nach unbedingt besuchen sollte. Schaut Euch die Bilder selbst an und ihr wisst was ich meine…

Besonder gefällt mir der Spruch “Happiness is not a destination it is a way of life!“

I’ve already mentioned several times that I’m into Swedish design. I have found incredibly beautiful apartments at the side of Alvhem. I like the selection of furniture, the dominance of whites and the mix of tradition and modernity! Incredibly beautiful impressions get inspired and do it yourself. Alvhem have opened a shop in Gothenburg where they sell decorative objects. A store absolutely worth visiting in my opinion! But see yourself…

Most of all I like the quote on one of the pictures: “Happiness is not a destination it is a way of life!“

Furniture to watch – Tom Dixon

On the Tom Dixon site I have found this wingback chair, which I really like.

This chair was already launched in 2007. The frame is made from solid birch and stuffed with layers of natural cotton and boar bristle.

This is one of my favourite lamps I have seen in a while. I really like the green colour and the thick glass it is made of. On the Website it is said that part of the production process requires each individual shade to be polished by hand for a length of forty minutes. It was launched in 2009.

Before & After, Design

Before & After – A beautiful makeover of a screened-in porch

Here is another “Before and After” series of a dining room which I have found on the Design Sponge site. It is the transformation of an old screened-in porch into a beautiful dining room, where you share beautiful moments with your family and friends. I really like it and I wish we would have these screened-in porches in Munich too.

Sarah did a really fantastic job there and kept it simple by mixing modern with old design elements. I like the white chair and the vintage table and the contrast of the blue and white carpet to the rest of the room.

Before & After – A house at the seaside

I like the seaside and a dream would be to have a house at the seaside oneday.

On the Website of coastalliving.com I have found a beautiful “Before & After” transformation of a house at the seaside. The living room was held in the 60ies style before, with the old furniture and the dark wood. It did not really look cosy and beautiful in my opinion.

Afterwards, everything looks more bright and friendly. I like the beautiful oven in the middle of the room with the view to the seaside. I guess I would have chosen other chandeliers, like for example this one from Tobias Wong:

But anyway, well done and a lovely place to be!

Design – Wow for this hanging lounger

On the DEDON site I just saw this beautiful “Nestrest hanging lounger” designed by Daniel Pouzet und Fred Frety.

I can only say WOW! If I should have too much money one day (in my dreams), I would definitely buy this one. This would be a perfect secret place to hide from everyday life and relax.

About this “nest”:

  • Made of 2 inch DEDON fibres
  • You can choose between the colours chalk and natural
  • You can choose between lots of different colours and patterns for the pillows
  • Costs about 8.000 Euro

Vintage Design – A beautiful Swedish house

I just saw pictures of a really beautiful Scandinavian house which I would like to share with you. This is a house I would love to live in and I really like the style.

It is the 210 m² house of Marie Olsson Nylander and her family in Malmö, Sweden.

Marie Olsson is an interior designer who was done a fabulous job by turning an old house into an adorable place. She used old vintage furniture, warm colours, wooden panels, leather and designer decoration elements which perfectly fit together. She collected most of the things in her house during her travels and from fairtrade stores. To enlighten the house she bought windows from an old tobacco factory. In the first instance she did not want to buy the house because it was old and smelled strange and seemed dark. But after her completely redesign of the house it looks just amazing and fabulous and you could never imagine how she could not want it in first place. Just enjoy these beautiful pictures!

Ever heard of Mansory?

If you are interested in nicely tuned cars have a look at the Mansory page. I discovered them because a friend wrote an article about them in the last Playboy edition.
Mansory is an aftermarket tuning company and one of their shops is situated in the southern part of Germany in a city called Brand.

My favourite car is the Aston Martin DB9/ Volante, a car I would love to have later on. But first I should earn some money but – “Never stop dreaming”. hehe

They have also other projects like the Mercedes SLR McLaren, Rolls Royce and Ferrari. Furthermore they are offering exclusive designed office furniture on their homepage, like an office chair made of gold leather padding with black piano lacquer inlays. The reason why I am writing about this company is, that I think they tune cars in an aesthetic way, and do not only concentrate on horsepower.
